Limitations of Rote Learning.

There are various methods of learning new things. Learning in a class room, practically experiencing things and memorising by repetition. Although rote learning method is painful,it is still popular among many students who are good at memorising things at last moment before the exam. However, it is not recommended method to learn things appropriately.

Many students like to study intensively throughout the year and do well in the exam. While some students who do not manage to concentrate during the entire study period prefer to study at last few weeks and pass the exam. They spend enormous amount of time studying and mugging thing, but unfortunately they can not learn some subjects at the end. For instance, some mathematical calculations, chemistry formulas and sums which are hard to cram. Moreover, memorised work is easy to pick up by the evaluator because there are alway some irregularities in memorised work.

Additionally, rote learning method does not help students to learn subjects thoroughly. Despite the fact that rote learning can be a short cut for students, it is not favoured by teachers. Students who understand subjects and methods do not make mistakes, even if they are given more difficult questions because they have learned the subject deeply.
Take a mechanical engineer for example, He will be unable to fix a six cylinder car if he lacks practical knowledge of the subject.

In a nutshell, Though students prefer various methods that best suits them ,but rotting a subject will not help in a long run. Students who memorised subjects to pass the exam may fail while performing as a professional. Therefore, cramming is not a good option to learn a subject.
